the approach
A headshot has one job for an actor. It has to look exactly like you on the day you walk in, and it has to hold a casting director's eye for the half-second they give it. Retouched-to-death or five years out of date does not cut it.
I keep it simple and current. Good light, honest skin, a few genuine expressions rather than one frozen smile, and enough direction that you never feel stuck. Most actors leave with two or three looks they would happily send out tomorrow.
