About LemonLens

The photographer who asks what the pictures are for.

I'm Emmet — a London photographer and videographer behind LemonLens. Every booking starts with the same question: what do these images actually need to do? Win the pitch, fill the venue, make someone feel seen. Then we shoot for that, not for a look.

The story

Why "LemonLens"?

Because photography had started taking itself too seriously. Somewhere along the way the industry decided that good pictures needed moody photographers, vague quotes and a six-week wait for a gallery. LemonLens began as a reaction to all of that: bright, sharp, a little bit zesty, and completely straightforward to work with.

It started the way most honest businesses do, with one camera, one borrowed flash and a friend's launch party that needed photographing for free. The photos got their next client. Those photos got the next three. Ten years later the same rule still runs the whole studio: every image has a job to do. A headshot has to win the meeting. A wedding photo has to bring the day back in one look. An event gallery has to be live while people are still talking about the night.

That is also why the studio ended up in Fulham rather than a warehouse in zone 4. Being minutes from Chelsea, South Kensington and the river means clients can walk in, shoot, and walk out with their lunch hour intact, and it means I can be anywhere in London with kit before the light changes.

How we got here

Ten years in four chapters

The first camera

Music venues and mates' gigs. Learning to find the picture in bad light and fast moments, skills that still earn their keep at every wedding reception.

Going pro

First paid commissions: local restaurants, then agencies, then brands. The portfolio grew the honest way, one referral at a time.

The Fulham studio

A permanent home. Controlled light for portraits and products, and a base to cover every London zone at short notice.

LemonLens today

Portraits, weddings, events, brand content and video, one studio, one standard: images that work as hard as you do.

The approach

Directed, never stiff

Every session is directed from the first frame to the last: what to do with your hands, where to look, when to move. There is never a moment of standing there wondering, which is exactly why the pictures come out relaxed.

The same thinking runs through weddings and events: quiet, planned, and ready before the moment happens rather than chasing it after. You will barely notice the camera. You will definitely notice the photos.

How I work

Three things you can hold me to

Straight answers

Honest availability, fixed pricing, and a clear "yes, I'm the right fit", or a recommendation if I'm not.

Directed, never stiff

You'll always know what to do. Most people forget the camera's there within ten minutes.

Delivered fast

48-hour event galleries, weeks not months for everything else. Deadlines are part of the job.

LemonLens started with a simple frustration: too many photographs look expensive and say nothing. A headshot that could be anyone. An event gallery no one reopens. So I built the opposite — pictures made for a job, delivered when they’re actually useful.

Ten years and 200-odd shoots later, that hasn’t changed. Portraits, events, weddings, brand work — across every London postcode, shot to feel like the room actually felt. Directed enough that you know what to do, loose enough that you forget the camera’s there.
