Wedding photographer in Twickenham: a decorated hotel wedding
A wedding photographer in Twickenham gets to document the details couples spend months planning, and this one had them everywhere. On 22 August 2025 I shot a wedding at a Premier Inn in Twickenham where the entire place had been transformed, sweet stands throughout, decoration in every corner. Those sweet stands have quietly become a wedding staple, and photographing them right takes a bit of thought. If you’re planning a decorated wedding in West London, here’s how I cover a day like this.
How do you photograph wedding details and decoration?
Early, and before guests touch them. The best time to shoot a styled room is the quiet window after setup and before the doors open, when every sweet stand and place setting is perfect. Miss that window and you’re cloning out half-eaten cake later.
At the Twickenham wedding I worked the decorated spaces before the reception filled up, so the couple has clean images of everything they planned.
Why do the small touches matter so much?
Because couples remember what they chose. The sweet stands, the flowers, the little signs, those decisions took real time and money, and the photos are the only lasting record. A wedding gallery that skips the details misses a chunk of the day the couple cared about most.
Decorated weddings have grown hugely, and sweet stands especially are now near-standard. Shooting them well is part of the job now.
What’s your approach to the whole wedding day?
Relaxed, unobtrusive, and led by the moments rather than a rigid shot list. I catch the ceremony and reception as they happen and keep posed groups short and painless. Nobody remembers a wedding for the photographer barking orders.
Details, candids, and a handful of proper portraits together give a couple the full story without turning their day into a photoshoot.
Where do you shoot weddings around Twickenham?
Across West and South West London and the Thames-side venues. LemonLens covers wedding photography throughout the city, and it sits alongside our couples and portrait sessions for engagement shoots. Twickenham, Richmond, and Kingston are all easy reach from our Fulham studio.
FAQ
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Twickenham?
Wedding coverage is priced by hours and what you need, ceremony only or full day, or somewhere in between. A decorated hotel wedding usually wants enough hours to catch the styled rooms, the ceremony, and the reception. Send your date and I’ll quote.
Should I get my decorations photographed before guests arrive?
Yes, always. I build in time to shoot the styled spaces while they’re pristine, before anyone sits down, which is the only way to get clean images of every detail you planned.
Do you do engagement shoots too?
Yes. A pre-wedding couples session is a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera before the day, and it gives you images for save-the-dates. Many couples book both together.
Which West London wedding venues do you cover?
All of them. Twickenham, Richmond, Kingston, and the Thames-side hotels and halls are regular ground, and I travel across London and beyond for weddings.
