Why Shoreditch
A backdrop with grain.
Shoreditch gives you texture that a clean studio backdrop cannot. Brick, peeling paint, scaffolding, light bouncing off awnings on Brick Lane. For founders of design led brands, musicians, illustrators, and creative directors, an E1 portrait reads truer than something shot on white seamless.
We rotate route four times a year because the murals change. Sessions usually run a 90 minute loop that takes in one alley off Brick Lane, one slot on the Boxpark side of Bethnal Green Road, and a quiet rooftop or interior with permission. The result is a portrait set that does not look like a stock template for E1.

Do you need a permit to shoot in Shoreditch?
Handheld portrait work on public pavement is unpermitted. Tripods, lighting stands, and any commercial campaign work usually need permission from Hackney or Tower Hamlets depending on the street. We arrange this before the shoot.
Can you shoot on a Sunday?
Sundays work well for atmosphere because of the Sclater and Brick Lane markets, but they are crowded. We default to early Sunday slots before 10:00.
Do you offer the partner rooftops by default?
The rooftops are part of the Brand Day tier. They are available for Standard tier on request, subject to weather and access permission, and may add a small access fee.
What if the murals I wanted have been painted over?
Highly likely. We refresh the route every three months and check it again 48 hours before the shoot. If a specific wall has changed we replace it with something on the same loop.
Will it look like every other Shoreditch photo?
We avoid the obvious Brick Lane signage and the Boxpark frontage. Our edit grade is closer to magazine editorial than Instagram preset, so the photos read distinct even within E1.
